As you may know, M365 Copilot Chat data is available for organizations to retain and perform eDiscovery on for legal purposes. Up until now, Copilot interactions data shared the same policy with Teams chats. Microsoft received feedback that many organizations wanted to separate these policies so that they can treat Copilot and Teams chat data separately with different policies.
Hearing this feedback, new data lifecycle management policy has been created and dedicated to Microsoft Copilot. This enables organizations to specify separate retention and deletion policies for Copilot and Teams chat data.
